    Legal Coordinator

    Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | 8-5

    Website Summary
    Join trak group in partnering with a Cincinnati-area organization seeking a Legal Coordinator to provide legal, regulatory, litigation, and administrative support to its attorneys. This position will assist with legal research, document preparation, eviction matters, litigation support, grievance hearings, public records requests, records retention, and regulatory reporting.

    This contract opportunity is expected to last up to six months or longer and is ideal for a detail-oriented legal support professional with strong research, writing, and organizational skills. Experience within housing, property management, compliance, or landlord/tenant matters is especially valuable.
    Responsibilities
    • Provide legal and regulatory research and administrative support to attorneys.
    • Research applicable laws, regulations, policies, and legal requirements.
    • Draft eviction complaints and other legal documents.
    • Assist attorneys with litigation preparation, including:
      • Hearings and trials
      • Depositions and discovery
      • Evidence and exhibits
      • Witness preparation
    • Coordinate administrative activities associated with grievance hearings.
    • Schedule hearings and communicate with appropriate parties.
    • Coordinate and distribute grievance hearing decisions.
    • Assist with Public Records Requests and Records Retention activities.
    • Prepare legal, litigation, regulatory, audit, quarterly, and departmental reports.
    • Oversee collection activities associated with vacated tenant accounts receivable.
    • Provide administrative support and consultation related to resident relocation activities.
    • Maintain working knowledge of Fair Housing, Section 504, ADA, VAWA, landlord/tenant law, and HUD regulations.
    • Interpret and apply applicable policies, procedures, regulations, and legal requirements.
    • Establish effective working relationships with residents, applicants, attorneys, hearing officers, government agencies, community organizations, and internal departments.
    • Maintain accurate, organized, and confidential legal documentation and records.
    Must-Haves
    • Strong legal research and writing skills.
    • Strong analytical and critical-thinking abilities.
    • Ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple legal and administrative priorities.
    • Professionalism when interacting with attorneys, residents, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and other business applications.
    • Ability to successfully complete required pre-employment screening, including background, driving record, and drug screening.
    Preferred
    • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies, Criminal Justice, Public Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
    • 2+ years of experience in legal support, property management, compliance, case management, or a related field.
    • Previous experience drafting legal documents or supporting litigation.
    • Knowledge of Fair Housing, Section 504, ADA, VAWA, and HUD regulations.
    • Familiarity with landlord/tenant law and eviction proceedings.
    • Experience handling public records or records retention matters.
    • Previous experience in public or private housing is highly desirable.
    • Paralegal or legal coordinator experience.
