Our client, a Center City, top notch, mid-size, multi-disciplined business and commercial litigation law firm with a family-centric culture, is looking for an experienced Legal Assistant/Paralegal to provide direct support to the Qui Tam / False Claims Act practice group.
This is a Hybrid role (In office, M, W & F). Salary 75-95k with full benefits!
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist attorneys with the preparation, filing, and service of pleadings, motions,
briefs, and other legal documents in federal and state courts.
• Maintain and organize case files, exhibits, discovery materials, and litigation
databases.
• Coordinate and track court deadlines, filing requirements, and scheduling matters.
• Conduct basic research relating to parties in whistleblower actions, healthcare
fraud, government contracting fraud, and related matters.
• Review, organize, and summarize medical, financial, business, and investigative
records.
• Assist with discovery, including document production, subpoenas, interrogatories,
requests for production, and deposition preparation.
• Prepare and/or proofread correspondence and communicate professionally with
clients, government agencies, opposing counsel, experts, and witnesses.
• Support attorneys in preparing disclosures and submissions to federal and state
government agencies.
• Manage confidential and sealed court filings in compliance with applicable court
rules and statutory requirements.
• Assist with trial preparation, hearings, mediations, and settlement conferences.
• Maintain accurate billing records and time entries as required.
The ideal candidate must have the following skills for consideration:
• Strong attention to detail in all work.
• At least 2 years of legal assistant or paralegal experience supporting attorneys in
complex litigation areas.
• Experience with county, state, and federal courts, including knowledge of CM/ECF
filing.
• Ability to manage multiple files and to prioritize workloads to effectively meet all
deadlines.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to interact
professionally with all levels of management, staff, and clients.
• Forward thinking, organized, proactive, and a team player.
• Ability to independently solve problems and exercise sound judgment with minimal
direction.
• Experience with litigation technology applications such as Everlaw or Relativity.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and
Excel.
• Experience with iManage and ProLaw a plus
