We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Permanent Legal Assistant (L&T Litigation) to join our dynamic legal team. This is an exciting opportunity for a candidate with a strong background in litigation, housing court, residential, commercial, holdover, and nonpayment cases. The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of experience in a similar role, with a proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. This role will provide comprehensive legal support to our team and will have a significant impact on our ongoing cases.

Responsibilities:

1. Assist in all aspects of litigation, including drafting pleadings, discovery, and court filings.
2. Attend housing court proceedings and assist with residential, commercial, holdover, and nonpayment cases.
3. Conduct legal research and assist in the preparation of legal memorandums, briefs, and other documents.
4. Manage case files, maintain case calendars, and track deadlines.
5. Coordinate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel.
6. Assist with the preparation and review of client billing and expense reports.
7. Provide general administrative support to attorneys, including scheduling meetings, maintaining files, and answering phones.
8. Stay current on legal trends and changes in the law to provide the most accurate and timely advice to our clients.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or similar role in a law firm or corporate legal department.
2. Proven experience with litigation, housing court, residential, commercial, holdover, and nonpayment cases.
3. Strong knowledge of legal research methods and legal terminology.
4. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
6. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), legal research software, and case management systems.
8. Paralegal certification or equivalent legal education is preferred.
