This position (Legal Assistant) and this team interact with all levels of staff and various stakeholders.Summary of this Position: The Office Assistant is responsible for performing a range of clerical and administrative tasks to support daily operations in an office setting. This is an entry level position that gives the employee the opportunity to work across the organization. Responsibilities also include assisting contributing to special projects as directed. This position requires a strong self- starter with organizational skills, flexibility, the ability to prioritize new tasks as they come in, interpersonal communication skills, time management skills and a customer service focus.Job Duties Include:Administrative Support:Assist the Director of Operations, Attorneys and Legal Assistant with case management, including opening, closing, and maintaining case files.Confirm meetings and court dates.Organize and file legal documents and correspondence in case management system.Perform data entry and maintain accurate client records in case management system.Perform other tasks to support the Legal Team, such as copying, scanning, and mailing documents.Communication and Social Media:Support the management of social media accounts by supporting drafting and creation of content and scheduling posts.Provide phone and meeting scheduling supportEvent Assistance:Support the planning and execution of events, workshops, and community outreach activities.Support event logistics, including venue setup, silent auction, registration, and material preparation.Data Entry:Support data entry of client information, case details, and other relevant data into case management systems.Update and maintain donor databases to ensure information is current and accessible.Miscellaneous:Support special projects and initiatives as assigned by Director of OperationsParticipate in team meetings, training sessions, and community outreach events.Qualifications:Required:Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).Basic skills using a variety of computer software applications.Preferred:Bachelor's DegreePrevious experience in a legal, administrative, or customer service role.Experience with social media management and content creation.Event planning and coordination experience.Data entry experience with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Bilingual skills (specify language) are a plus.Physical Requirements:Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds.How to Apply: Interested candidates should submit a resume and cover letter to Education Rights Counsel, attention Sarah Dee Hollibaugh at sdh@educationrightscounsel.org.
