Foley & Lardner LLP is currently seeking a legal Assistant to join our Denver office. The Assistant will provide legal and executive administrative support to attorneys in both the Litigation and Business Law practice areas and is ideal for a candidate who is positive, proactive, eager to learn, and attentive to detail. The Assistant will play a key role in managing heavy calendaring, client intake, travel coordination, and ongoing administrative support, while building a strong understanding of the attorneys’ clients, matters, and priorities.
Responsibilities:
Assist attorneys by providing administrative support through the performance of secretarial and clerical duties, including meeting planning and coordination, client communication, scheduling, and follow-up
Manage calendaring for attorneys, including scheduling appointments, coordinating meetings, tracking deadlines, and maintaining daily dockets to ensure timely handling of matters
Coordinate domestic and international travel arrangements
Support client intake processes, including gathering information, opening new matters, and assisting with engagement documentation
Interact frequently with clients by responding to questions, obtaining information, and providing a high level of service and professionalism
Receive and screen telephone calls, letters, emails, and visitors; answer routine questions and furnish information to inquiring parties
Communicate attorney instructions to various individuals and obtain information from attorneys, clients, and business professionals as needed
Create, organize, and maintain client files; follow up on pending matters and help ensure smooth workflow and matter progression
Maintain physical and electronic client, research, and administrative files utilizing NetDocs
Greet attorneys’ clients and guests for meetings and appointments and ensure all required materials are prepared in advance
Anticipate attorney needs and prepare draft correspondence, documentation, and other materials for attorney review
Provide document production support, including styling, formatting, proofreading, and preparing documents for distribution
Proofread all documents and check for appropriate formatting, spelling, grammar, and completeness
Prepare documents and packages for mail, messenger, and overnight delivery; ensure all attachments, exhibits, and enclosures are included
Receive and redirect attorney requests and needs as appropriate to expedite solutions
Manage incoming and outgoing mail and email
Submit conflicts checks through OPEN
Enter new client matter information in OPEN and prepare engagement letters
Input Partner’s time in InTapp and record related information
Prepare expense reports and disbursement forms
Perform routine filing and retrieve files when requested
Assist with court filings, including e-filing, as needed
Transcribe dictation as requested
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree in a related field preferred
Minimum of three (3) years of experience working in an assistant or administrative support role required
Experience supporting attorneys or professionals in a fast-paced environment preferred
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage time-sensitive deadlines
Demonstrated attention to detail and strong follow-through
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with clients and colleagues
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel #LI-Hybrid

In support of transparency and equity in the workplace, Foley provides salary ranges for all positions. The figures below represent the full compensation range of this position. The actual offered amount will be between the range minimum and midpoint based on the following factors: education, experience, geographic market, and internal pay equity at Foley. We will be accepting ongoing applications. Denver - $56,800 to $129,300
