    Job Summary At Jackson Lewis, the legal secretary/legal administrative assistant supports multiple labor and employment litigation attorneys and requires strong skills in legal and administrative support. Responsibilities include drafting and revising correspondence, pleadings and documents, managing electronic filing in various courts, conducting legal research, and providing advanced editing and formatting (TOC, TOA).Responsibilities Support four or more attorneys in employment law matters, drafting and revising legal documents.Manage electronic filing in multiple courts (MO, IL, state and federal) and perform document filing using internal management systems.Proofread all documents for accuracy and apply advanced editing functions such as table of content and table of authority.Maintain attorneys' calendars, CLE records, reports, and assist with time entries when needed.Handle attorney expenses, submit invoices, and coordinate travel arrangements.Conduct legal research, complete conflict checks, and assist with billing review, collection inquiries, and docketing.Interact with internal departments, outside agencies, vendors, and clients to manage confidential, time‑sensitive material.Essential Functions Engage in case work by demonstrating knowledge of current cases and projects.Provide backup support across teams and assist in opening new client engagements.Qualifications Five years of recent legal secretarial experience in a law firm or legal department of a professional services firm.Litigation support experience preferred.Strong understanding of legal terminology, court filing requirements, and state and federal rules.Excellent verbal and written communication and proofreading skills.Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, take initiative, and balance workload effectively.Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Experience with law firm billing software, expense and document management, and tables of authorities/content preferred.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work well in a cooperative, small‑office environment within a large firm.Educational Requirements High school diploma or equivalent required; four‑year college degree preferred.Remote Work Policy One remote day per week after a 90‑day probationary period.EEO Statement Jackson Lewis is an equal employment opportunity employer.
