Our client is seeking a Lead Software Engineer to provide technical leadership across a growing suite of enterprise SaaS applications.

Position Overview:
The Lead Software Engineer will provide technical leadership across a growing suite of enterprise SaaS applications. The Lead Software Engineer will work closely with product and technology leadership to shape engineering strategy, design scalable solutions, introduce AI-powered development practices, and build agentic systems that integrate with existing products.
This role is ideal for a hands-on Lead Software Engineer who combines strong software development expertise with strategic thinking, technical mentorship, and team leadership. The Lead Software Engineer will help establish engineering standards, improve software quality, guide technology decisions, and support the continued evolution toward scalable and serverless cloud infrastructure.

Responsibilities of the Lead Software Engineer:
  • Lead technical strategy, architecture, and engineering initiatives across enterprise applications.
  • Partner with product leadership on prioritisation and enterprise-level feature design.
  • Define and document engineering policies, standards, and development best practices.
  • Identify and implement AI engineering tools to improve development efficiency.
  • Design and implement agentic systems using modern AI frameworks and technologies.
  • Provide technology recommendations and technical guidance to engineering teams.
  • Audit existing products and processes and recommend improvements.
  • Establish and lead code reviews, automated testing, CI, and QA practices.
  • Support high-level technical design, project planning, and implementation.
  • Help scale applications while advancing serverless cloud infrastructure where appropriate.
  • Mentor engineers and provide technical and career development guidance.
  • Support hiring recommendations, resource allocation, and project prioritisation.
  • Collaborate effectively across Product, UX, QA, Release, and Technology teams.
Required Experience/Skills for the Lead Software Engineer:
  • 5-8 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • Strong experience with multiple programming languages and modern frameworks.
  • Experience with Python, NodeJS, ReactJS, Bootstrap, and/or ANT Design.
  • Experience designing and implementing agentic systems and AI-powered solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with frameworks such as LangGraph, LangChain, LangFuse, or OpenAI Agents SDK.
  • Strong experience with AWS cloud services and serverless technologies.
  • Experience with AWS Lambda, SNS, API Gateway, and EC2.
  • Experience with PostgreSQL and/or AWS Aurora.
  • Experience with GraphQL and AWS AppSync.
  • Strong understanding of automated testing, code reviews, CI, and software quality practices.
  • Experience working in Agile software development environments.
  • Proven experience managing complex projects from conception through implementation.
  • Strong technical leadership, communication, stakeholder management, and team coaching skills.
  • Ability to influence technical decisions across engineering and product teams.
Preferred Experience/Skills for the Lead Software Engineer:
  • Experience with Golang.
  • Experience scaling enterprise SaaS applications.
  • Strong understanding of serverless architecture and cloud-native development.
  • Experience leading engineering teams and mentoring software developers.
  • Experience using AI tools to improve software development workflows.
  • Experience collaborating across Product, UX, Quality, and Release teams.
  • Strong client engagement and relationship management experience.
  • Experience working in rapidly changing, collaborative environments.
  • Familiarity with Google Workspace, including Docs, Slides, and Sheets.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Equivalent professional experience will be considered.
