    The Lead Registered Nurse (RN) will oversee the daily patient throughput by effectively managing staff. They are responsible for daily oversight of clinic flow and performing the duties of an RN in the practice. They collaborate with and support team members to ensure a patient-focused approach to care. The Lead RN reports directly to the Nurse Manager who shall determine the responsibilities of the position.

    As part of the essential functions of this role, the Lead RN:

    • Provides workflow guidance and assists with overseeing the daily operations of Licensed Practical Nurses and Medical Assistants
    • Oversees the daily patient throughput through efficiency in rooming and clinical procedures
    • Assists with completing staffing schedules and maintains daily staffing assignments and assures adequate staffing coverage
    • Communicates status of daily operations as well as problems hindering workflow to Nurse Manager in a timely manner
    • Ensures rooms are stocked appropriately and are prepared between patient visits
    • Develops, maintains, and holds nursing department staff accountable to training protocols for all positions within Primary & Specialty care

    Required license: Registered Nurse (RN) in New York State

    Required Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN), or a documented plan to complete BSN within NYSED's RN BSN requirement timeframe

    Required certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

    Required experience: Minimum one (1) year experience working in a medical office setting, including phlebotomy experience; experience working with HIV/AIDS or other infectious diseases preferred
