Delta Air Lines is seeking a Lead Program Manager of Engine Analytics and Strategic Insights to join the Engines team within Technical Operations Supply Chain Management in Atlanta, GA. The Engines team is focused on leading key strategic initiatives and presenting findings and recommendations to TechOps leadership. The role is equal parts analytics and strategic development.
The insights and analysis created will be used to drive strategic sourcing more effectively for Delta''s TechOps organization, representing over $4.0B spend annually. This role will utilize a data-driven approach to provide strategic recommendations and support key decision-making.
This Lead Program Manager of Engine Analytics and Strategic Insights will coordinate with cross-functional business unit representatives to identify key insights and drive effective use of advanced decision-making analytics. This role will work closely with the Technical Operations business units and the TechOps Supply Chain teams to produce optimized decisions for the larger organization. The successful candidate should have a knowledge of or a willingness and curiosity to learn the technical and commercial aspects of aviation-based Technical Operations.
Summary of responsibilities (not comprehensive of all tasks):
- Conducts analysis of complex, multi‑source engine and operational datasets to provide data-driven insights and solve high-impact, real-world business problems
- Partners closely with TechOps Supply Chain and other functional stakeholders to identify cost‑reduction opportunities, performance improvements, and short- and long‑term strategic enhancements
- Prepares and delivers executive-ready presentations that translate analytical outputs into strategic narratives, highlighting risks, opportunities, and recommended action
- Translates complex data sets and research into simple business recommendations
- Creates optimized decision tools that distill analysis into clear, actionable recommendations that enable leadership to make timely and informed decisions
- Works collaboratively with cross-functional teams to create and apply new analytical processes on diverse datasets to generate fact-based strategic recommendations
- Prioritizes and executes tasks with minimal supervision and proactively communicates progress, findings, and recommendations of their work to leadership
- Practice safety conscious behaviors in all operational processes and procedures
What you need to succeed (minimum qualifications)
- Must have a bachelor''s degree (or equivalent, proven work experience) plus at least 2-3 years of business experience in Technical Operations, Engineering, MRO Operations, Supply Chain, Procurement Strategies, Finance and/or Project Management
- Must have strong ability and experience to effectively work with multiple, diverse stakeholders at all organizational levels, build value-based relationships, and exert personal influence
- Must have strong analytical skills and a track record of successful analytics solutions with measurable and impactful business results
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills and ability to develop executive presentations
- Must be fully competent in optimizing own capacity; demonstrating openness and self-confidence; accepting and building accountability; using good judgment and common sense; comfortable with ambiguity; and able to think strategically but also be detail-oriented
- (If transferring internally) Must be performing satisfactorily in present position
- Consistently prioritizes safety and security of self, others, and personal data.
- Embraces diverse people, thinking, and styles.
- Possesses a high school diploma, GED, or high school equivalency.
- Is at least 18 years of age and has authorization to work in the United States.
What will give you a competitive edge (preferred qualifications)
- Masters in Engineering, Economics, Operations Research, Decision Sciences or MBA in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Business / Technology Management, Finance or comparable field is preferred
- Experience in advanced data analytics, engineering, forecasting, data mining, database analysis, or strategic planning is a plus
