Lead Manufacturing Engineer

Job Description Summary

The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will support the manufacturing development of composite components and assemblies for Next Generation engine programs. In this role you will integrate and develop processes that meet business needs across the organization, manage complex issues within functional area(s) of expertise and be involved in long-term planning

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams in the development of manufacturing processes for composite hardware.
• Lead and provide technical direction to projects with critical business impact.
• Design and develop mold tooling.
• Provide technical guidance, direction, and mentorship to new engineers in function.
• Drive rigor for documentation of projects and lessons learned.
• Make recommendations after analysis of the data using quality tools.
• Protect the Intellectual Property rights of the Company.

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in a Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Industrial Engineering or related program + Minimum of 3 years of experience in manufacturing processes for composite hardware.
• OR a high school diploma / GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical, etc. + Minimum of 3 years experience in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials Science, Chemical.
• Must be a US Citizen
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance

Desired Characteristics and Experience

• Previous experience in composites manufacturing (i.e.: Braiding & Weaving technology, Ply shape development, Prepreg hand layup, Resin Injection Molding, Autoclave and/or press curing).
• Experience operating within Quality Systems (Ex: AS9100, NADCAP).
• Skilled in the use of CAD modeling software (Unigraphics preferred).
• Humble: respectful, receptive, agile, eager to learn.
• Transparent: shares critical information, speaks with candor, contributes constructively.
• Focused: quick learner, strategically prioritizes work, committed.
• Able to work on shop floor and interface between floor operators and engineering
• Leadership ability: strong communicator, decision-maker, collaborative.

This role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Therefore, employment will be contingent upon the ability to prove that you meet the status of a U.S. Person as one of the following: U.S. lawful permanent resident, U.S. Citizen, have been granted asylee or refugee status (i.e., a protected individual under the Immigration and Naturalization Act, 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3)).
