Lead Maintenance Technician for a growing manufacturing facility in Memphis, TN. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for overseeing the daily maintenance operations, assigning work to maintenance personnel, troubleshooting equipment issues, and ensuring production equipment operates safely and efficiently.
Day Shift Monday through Friday with flexibility for occasional overtime or weekends as needed.The ideal candidate will have
5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, including experience leading or supervising maintenance teams in a manufacturing environment. Strong knowledge of conveyor systems, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment, electrical systems, and preventative maintenance programs is required.
Responsibilities include:- Lead, mentor, and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team.
- Prioritize and assign maintenance work to ensure minimal production downtime.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment and industrial machinery.
- Perform preventative and predictive maintenance on manufacturing equipment.
- Install, adjust, maintain, and repair production machinery and facility equipment.
- Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues and implement effective repairs.
- Coordinate emergency repairs while maintaining a safe working environment.
- Read and interpret blueprints, equipment manuals, and technical drawings.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and cutting torches as needed.
- Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects.
- Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and preventative maintenance documentation.
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, company policies, and OSHA standards.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe maintenance shop and work environment.
- Collaborate with production leadership to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
Requirements and Qualifications:- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Technical, vocational, or trade school certification preferred.
- Minimum of five (5) years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising maintenance personnel preferred.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
- Experience with conveyor systems, production equipment, motors, gearboxes, and automated machinery.
- Welding and fabrication experience is preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
- Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency using a variety of hand and power tools.
Physical Requirements:- Frequently lift equipment, tools, and parts weighing up to 80 pounds.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, push, pull, and reach throughout the workday.
- Work in varying temperatures and manufacturing environments including exposure to noise, dust, and machinery.
- Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas when necessary.
