Job Summary
The Lead Line Cook supports kitchen leadership in delivering an exceptional, high-volume dinner service. This hands-on role leads by example, ensuring dishes are prepared with precision, consistency, and urgency while keeping the line organized and supporting the culinary team.


Key Responsibilities


Set up, inspect, and stock stations before service.
Prepare menu items according to The Americano’s recipes, presentation standards, and quality expectations.
Help coordinate the line, maintaining clear communication, ticket timing, and urgency.
Train and support line cooks while reinforcing kitchen standards.
Monitor food quality, portions, temperatures, seasoning, and presentation.
Communicate effectively with chefs, kitchen staff, and the front-of-house team.
Assist other stations as needed to maintain smooth service.
Oversee evening breakdown, food storage, labeling, sanitation, and deep cleaning.
Assist with prep, inventory, product rotation, receiving, and waste reduction.
Follow and reinforce all food-safety, hygiene, sanitation, and workplace-safety requirements.
Report equipment issues, shortages, and quality concerns to kitchen leadership.


Skills & Qualifications


Two or more years of professional line-cook experience; leadership or upscale, high-volume dining experience is preferred.
Strong knife skills and knowledge of grilling, sautéing, roasting, frying, and other cooking techniques.
Ability to manage multiple tickets accurately during peak dinner service.
Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to coach teammates professionally and lead by example.
Knowledge of food safety, allergen awareness, and proper food storage.
Must have or obtain a current Arizona Food Handler Card.
Available for evenings, late shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds and work on your feet for extended periods.
