Lead Cable Assembly Technician

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on the shop floor, leading and training other technicians, reading technical drawings, and ensuring assemblies are built, tested, and documented according to specifications. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with experience building complex cable assemblies, service loops, or similar industrial electrical products.

A growing industrial manufacturing company in the Greenspoint area is seeking an experienced Lead Service Loop & Cable Assembly Technician to join their team on a temp-to-hire basis. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone with experience building complex cable assemblies, service loops, or similar industrial electrical products.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working on the shop floor, leading and training other technicians, reading technical drawings, and ensuring assemblies are built, tested, and documented according to specifications.
What You’ll Do

• Lead the daily production of service loops, bridles, and power, control, and instrumentation cable assemblies
• Read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, pinout schedules, bills of material, and work instructions
• Measure, cut, prepare, route, bundle, terminate, and assemble cables and connectors
• Assign work and provide hands-on guidance and training to other technicians
• Inspect work at key stages of production to ensure quality and accuracy
• Complete production travelers and document material identification, measurements, inspections, and test results
• Perform or coordinate electrical testing, including continuity, pinout, and insulation resistance testing as required
• Identify drawing discrepancies, material issues, and nonconforming work and communicate concerns promptly
• Assist with troubleshooting and resolving production issues before work continues
• Support final inspections, customer witness testing, packaging, and shipment preparation
• Maintain a safe, organized, and productive work environment

What We’re Looking For

• Hands-on experience building industrial cable assemblies, service loops, wire harnesses, or similar electrical products
• Strong knowledge of cable preparation, connector assembly, and electrical terminations
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and assembly instructions
• Previous experience leading, training, or mentoring technicians in a manufacturing or production environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
• Comfortable performing inspections, testing, and production documentation
• Ability to organize work, communicate clearly, and keep production moving while maintaining quality and safety standards
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to identify and address issues before they impact production

Preferred Experience
Experience with any of the following is a plus:

• Drilling equipment
• Offshore or subsea service loops
• Marine or industrial cable assemblies
• Fiber optic assemblies
• IPC workmanship standards
• Electrical testing equipment
