Job Summary

We are seeking a Test Technician to join our manufacturing team. The Test Technician will be responsible for testing, troubleshooting, and verifying power supply equipment, electrical assemblies, switchboards, switchgear, and related products to ensure they meet company specifications, engineering requirements, and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on electrical testing experience and the ability to read electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and assembly drawings.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical and functional testing of power supplies, electrical assemblies, switchboards, switchgear, and related equipment.

• Set up and operate electrical test equipment, meters, power supplies, and other diagnostic instruments.

• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and engineering drawings.

• Perform voltage, current, continuity, resistance, and functional testing.

• Troubleshoot electrical issues and identify defective components, wiring, connections, and assemblies.

• Use digital multimeters and other electrical test equipment to diagnose problems.

• Verify wiring, components, connections, and assemblies before and during testing.

• Document test results and complete required production and quality records.

• Identify test failures and work with manufacturing and engineering teams to determine corrective actions.

• Perform rework or minor repairs when necessary.

• Follow established test procedures, work instructions, safety requirements, and quality standards.

• Maintain a clean and organized testing area.

• Follow all electrical safety procedures, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout requirements when applicable.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of experience in electrical testing, electronics, power supplies, electrical assembly, manufacturing, or a related field.

• Ability to read and understand electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.

• Experience using a digital multimeter and basic electrical test equipment.

• Understanding of basic electrical principles, including voltage, current, resistance, and continuity.

• Ability to troubleshoot electrical and wiring issues.

• Experience using hand tools and basic electrical tools.

• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and testing procedures.

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.

• Ability to document test results accurately.

• High school diploma or GED required; technical school or electrical/electronics education is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• Experience testing power supplies, switchboards, switchgear, control panels, transformers, or other electrical distribution equipment.

• Experience working from schematics, BOMs, wiring diagrams, and engineering drawings.

• Experience with hipot testing, insulation resistance testing, dielectric testing, or other high-voltage testing.

• Experience troubleshooting electrical circuits and components.

• Experience in a manufacturing or electrical production environment.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds when required.

• Ability to work with electrical equipment and wear required PPE.

• Ability to work overtime when needed to meet production schedules.
