Location: Orlando Health - ORMC Core Laboratory Schedule: Full‑Time Position: Laboratory Assistant II Are you detail‑oriented, passionate about patient care, and ready to grow your career in healthcare? Orlando Health is seeking a Laboratory Assistant II to support essential diagnostic services that directly impact patient outcomes every day. This role is a key part of our laboratory team, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and exceptional service across multiple departments. What You'll Do As a Laboratory Assistant II, you will: Receive, process, label, and prepare specimens for testing Register patients and enter laboratory orders with accuracy Demonstrate knowledge of specimen collection and handling requirements Process pathology specimens while maintaining specimen integrity Support patient registration and reimbursement workflows Assist with laboratory quality improvement initiatives Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and work areas Provide outstanding customer service to patients, clinicians, and team members Ensure compliance with safety, infection control, and regulatory standards Assist with report distribution, filing, scheduling, and general lab operations Perform phlebotomy as needed (with approved competency) This role supports inpatient and outpatient laboratory operations across ORMC and affiliated Orlando Health facilities. What We're Looking For High School Diploma or GED Two (2) years of laboratory or patient care experience preferred Current students in Nursing, Medical Technology, Pre‑Med, or related science fields may substitute for experience Strong communication, organizational, and customer service skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively Flexibility to support varying departmental needs and schedules ️ Why Orlando Health?
