Lab Technician

We are seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Lab Technician to support an established outpatient medical practice in Wilton Manors, Florida. This position combines phlebotomy, specimen processing, Medical Assistant duties, laboratory operations, and direct patient support.

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate venipuncture and routine blood collection.
• Confirm patient and specimen information before labeling and processing samples.
• Collect, label, process, centrifuge, separate, store, package, and ship specimens.
• Prepare specimens for transport to external reference laboratories.
• Conduct assigned in-house laboratory procedures, including centrifugation, basic testing, and kit preparation.
• Administer provider-ordered intramuscular injections when permitted by credentials, training, and applicable requirements.
• Document laboratory and clinical activities accurately in the EMR.
• Follow OSHA, CLIA, HIPAA, infection-control, and laboratory-safety procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and adequately stocked laboratory.
• Monitor inventory and identify supplies that require replenishment.
• Calibrate and maintain laboratory equipment as required.
• Assist providers and clinical staff with patient flow and clinical procedures.
• Deliver professional, attentive service during every patient interaction.

Essential Skills

• Phlebotomy Certification
• 2+ years of medical specimen-handling and venipuncture skills
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills
• Ability to maintain professionalism and accuracy in a patient-facing setting

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• 2+ years of clinical or laboratory experience is preferred
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety and compliance requirements preferred
• Experience in functional medicine, outpatient care, or a medical office is preferred
• CLIA-waived laboratory experience is preferred
• Aesthetic procedure knowledge is beneficial
• English and Spanish bilingual capability is strongly preferred

Work Environment

Shift: Tuesdays-Saturdays 8am-4:30pm. The role involves working individually, but also as a part of the larger clinical team. The environment is collaborative, team-oriented, and offers exposure to outpatient, functional, regenerative, and wellness-focused medicine.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Wilton Manors, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
