Kitchen Assistant

Job Type: Full-time

Pay Rate: $15 per hour

Shift: 5am - 12pm Monday to Friday

Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Kitchen Assistant to support our non-profit organization's food service operations. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a kitchen and have knowledge of food safety practices.

Responsibilities:

• Assist the head chef with food preparation and cooking.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen equipment and utensils.
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures.
• Organize and stock inventory.
• Wash dishes, pots, and pans.
• Maintain a clean and orderly kitchen environment.
• Assist with kitchen and dining room cleanup.
• Assist with food service during meal times.

Requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1-2 years of previous kitchen experience.
• Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
