Key Account Manager, Nissan / Mechatronics
Auburn Hills, MI (on-site) | $130,000 base plus bonus
I'm working with a global Tier 1 supplier that needs a Key Account Manager to take ownership of their Nissan mechatronics business. It's one of their most important accounts in North America, and the person in this seat is the commercial face of the business to Nissan.
What you'll own
- The Nissan account day to day: pricing, contracts, engineering changes and claims
- RFQs and quotes that win work without giving away margin
- Price and terms negotiations, measured against internal cost targets
- Working with engineering, program management, quality and the plant to get launches to SOP and keep production running
- The account forecast, feeding into annual and long-range plans
- Finding and winning new business inside Nissan
What I'm looking for
- Direct experience managing Nissan as a customer, either as the account owner or as a core part of the account team
- A background in mechatronics or electromechanical products: actuators, motors, mirrors, door and closure systems, electronic controls or similar
- A track record of holding margin when an OEM customer pushes hard
- Confidence with cost breakdowns, should-cost discussions and contract negotiations
- The credibility to work with OEM purchasing and engineering as a peer
- Someone self-driven who keeps things moving without being chased
Experience with other Japanese OEMs such as Toyota or Honda is a plus, as is an engineering degree.
The package
- $130,000 base salary, depending on experience
