Junior Financial Analyst


Location: Dobbs Ferry, NY
Job Type: Full-Time / Contract-based
Department: Finance & Accounting
Salary Range: $25 - $29 per hour


Position Overview


The Junior Financial Analyst is an integral member of the Finance & Accounting team, supporting the organization's financial operations through accounting, payroll, accounts receivable analysis, and financial reporting activities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for early-career finance professionals to develop a strong foundation in accounting and financial analysis while gaining exposure to budgeting, reporting, and organizational financial performance across multiple entities.


The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, analytical, and eager to grow their expertise in financial management, accounting processes, and data-driven decision-making.


Key Responsibilities



  • Perform daily accounting and bookkeeping activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.

  • Assist with payroll auditing, reporting, and analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.

  • Support accounts receivable tracking, reconciliations, collections analysis, and aging reports.

  • Prepare and analyze financial reports, statements, and supporting schedules.

  • Assist in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.

  • Review financial data to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvement.

  • Support budget preparation, forecasting activities, and financial planning initiatives.

  • Maintain accurate financial records and documentation in accordance with organizational policies and accounting standards.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support reporting needs.

  • Perform special projects and other finance-related duties as assigned.


Qualifications



  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum of one (1) year of accounting, bookkeeping, finance, or related professional experience.

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and general ledger systems.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including data analysis, formulas, and reporting functions.

  • Strong numerical aptitude with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Excellent organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to analyze financial data and present findings clearly and effectively.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred Qualifications



  • Experience with payroll processing, accounts receivable, or financial reporting.

  • Familiarity with accounting software, ERP systems, or financial management platforms.

  • Internship or professional experience in finance, accounting, or auditing environments.
