Junior Accountant
LHH Recruitment Solutions is looking for a Junior Accountant for a client in Cincinnati, OH. This position supports the accounting team with a primary focus on accounts receivable while assisting with payables, sales order processing, expense reporting, and month-end close activities. The role also provides general administrative and accounting support to ensure accurate financial operations. This position is hybrid with 3 days in office and 2 days working from home a week. Pay will range between $50K and $65K annually and the terms are temp to hire, with the potential to be hired on permanently after 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Manage accounts receivable activities including invoicing, cash application, and follow-up on outstanding balances
Review and process customer sales orders to ensure accuracy and proper documentation
Apply daily customer payments and maintain accurate account records
Assist with accounts payable functions including invoice entry, coding, and payment processing
Audit and approve employee expense reports for compliance with company policies
Support month-end close activities including reconciliations and reporting
Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to billing, payments, and expense reports
Maintain organized financial documentation and records
Provide general administrative support to the accounting team
Assist with ad hoc projects and additional accounting duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelor or Associate degree in business, accounting, or a related field is preferred
2+ years of accounting, accounts receivable, or related experience preferred
Basic understanding of accounting principles
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other standard office applications
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Effective communication skills and ability to work both independently and within a team
