    Job Description:

    Advisor Services Technologies is looking for an ambitious, hard-working, and curious Database Engineer to join a team of developers at Austin, TX or SouthLake, TX. This opportunity supports multiple development teams with large client (Advisors) facing applications. You will work with results-oriented software professionals who share a passion for technology, innovation, and excellence.

    As an Associate Database Engineer, you will assist the AST DBA Operations Team in Oracle, and SQL Server infrastructure support; Database development, performance tuning, life cycle management, migration, and automation efforts. You will assist with troubleshooting production issues, writing cleanup scripts, handling maintenance tasks, DB patching support, and participating in production support on-call rotation including weekends and 24/7 On-call rotation. The successful candidate will have a consistent track record of successfully supporting development teams and being engaged in DEV and PROD related DBA tasks.

    What you're good at:

    • Support end-to-end database delivery for multiple Agile teams.
    • Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL Server, and delivery Enterprise-level database changes to production.
    • Provide production support and participate in on-call rotation.
    • Writing queries, views, stored procedures, triggers and other database objects.
    • Implementing standard operating procedures, and cost-effective solutions.
    • Implement and support medium-level database migrations and optimization part of consolidation and technology reduction efforts.
    • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, coupled with a desire to take on responsibilities and deliver with minimal defects.
    • Training associates and offshore developers as needed
    • Assist with streamlining and organizing documentation, sharing knowledge, ideas and concepts with the team, collaborate and truly believing in the concept of teamwork.

    • 6 months - 1 year of hands-on experience working with Oracle and Sql Server databases Operations or equivalent college project/Internship experience.
    • Experience in PostgreSQL is nice to have
    • Have beginner database development skills (Oracle and SQL Server is must, PostgreSQL is a plus) with Development experience: Tables, triggers, Stored procedures, functions, Packages,
    • Experience in using CoPilot for automating manual jobs
    • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools (e.g., GitHub, bamboo, GitActions).
    • Experience with database performance tuning tools and techniques.
    • Strong ability to effectively manage multiple, competing, high-priority projects with varying deadlines and be able to work under pressure during production issues.
    • Ability to work well in a small team fast-paced environment.
    • Must be passionate about databases, data, and help others.
    • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills, coupled with a desire to take on responsibilities and deliver with minimal defects.
    • Experience writing good documentation being detailed oriented.
    • Able to quickly grasp complex concepts and learn new technologies.
