Jr Data Engineer w GCP & SQL

We are seeking a Jr Data Engineer to join a dynamic and growing team within the Global Risk & Compliance Technology organization on a 36-month contract basis. This hybrid role is located in Uptown Charlotte, North Carolina, and offers the opportunity to work with modern cloud technologies and data infrastructure on meaningful compliance and risk management initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate data requirements and stories, document them for seamless integration into existing architectures, and maintain data models to support business needs.
• Build and enhance data pipelines and database designs to meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.
• Collaborate in design reviews and testing, and provide production environment support with guidance from peers and leaders.
• Operate data assets according to consistent standards, guidelines, and policies.
• Complete work reviews and foster a collaborative learning environment.
• Communicate and collaborate with business and product teams to facilitate changes and implementation.
• Complete Big Data requirements by implementing basic partitioning and indexing solutions.
• Collaborate and co-create with teams in product and the business to align technology initiatives with business objectives.

Qualifications

• Required
• Hands-on experience with GCP services including BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, Cloud Composer, and Cloud Functions.
• Strong proficiency in Python and SQL for data processing and manipulation.
• Experience with ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts.
• Understanding of data modeling principles and techniques.
• Knowledge of cloud computing concepts and standard processes.
