We are seeking an educator who is passionate about digital literacy, creativity, and inquiry based learning, and who can help students develop foundational technology skills. The successful candidate will design engaging learning experiences that promote responsible technology use, STEAM exploration, problem solving, and research, while supporting students in typing, coding, and creative digital expression. LOCATION: District Elementary School KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide instruction in elementary digital literacy, including typing, research skills, and responsible technology use • Design and teach STEAM based learning experiences that support creativity, collaboration, and critical thinking • Introduce foundational coding and computational thinking using developmentally appropriate tools • Support project based and inquiry based learning through effective technology integration • Maintain and manage digital databases, including library book collections and shared instructional resources • Support access to and effective use of online research databases for staff and students • Organize and share digital resources to support curriculum and instruction across grade levels • Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learner needs • Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and administrators to integrate technology across the elementary instructional program • Foster a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration QUALIFICATIONS : • Valid NY State certification - Elementary Education plus Educational Technology Specialist certification • Additional NYS certification(s) will be considered • Prior elementary teaching or instructional technology experience preferred • Strong knowledge of digital literacy, instructional technology tools, and age-appropriate applications COMPENSATION: Contractual CLOSING DATE: May 7, 2026 APPLICATION PROCEDURES : To apply click on this link www.olasjobs.org/hempstead -ufsd Rodney Gilmore, Ed.D.
