A premier gaming and hospitality organization is seeking an IT Convention Services Manager to oversee convention center infrastructure and lead a team of engineers. This onsite, full-time position is responsible for maintaining convention technology in accordance with company standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. The role supports high-visibility events in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment and includes team leadership, escalated issue resolution, resource planning, vendor coordination, and operational project support. The successful candidate will bring experience with technology platforms, service delivery, and team leadership, along with the ability to support planned and just-in-time convention needs.Position OverviewFusion HCR is seeking an IT Convention Services Manager to oversee the convention center area of the infrastructure environment and lead a team of engineers. The manager will recommend, implement, and maintain convention infrastructure while ensuring systems and applications meet service expectations and compliance requirements. Responsibilities include mentoring team members, allocating resources, resolving escalated operational issues, coordinating with internal technology groups and vendors, and supporting show, event, and convention configurations. The role will also contribute to strategic initiatives, budget planning, performance metrics, knowledge management, and continuous improvement across Convention IT Services.
Key Responsibilities- Prioritize and allocate work across the Convention IT Services team.
- Manage hiring recommendations, training, coaching, performance feedback, discipline, and scheduling.
- Ensure 24/7 coverage for critical convention systems and applications.
- Configure, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and support convention technology.
- Manage service requests and ensure timely responses in accordance with service-level agreements.
- Document administration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and support standards.
- Coordinate incidents, requests, and changes with engineering and operations teams.
- Manage relationships with technology vendors, manufacturers, and third-party suppliers.
- Assess level of effort and align resources to projects and operational priorities.
- Deliver minor projects on time and within budget.
- Develop performance metrics, knowledgebase content, status reports, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Proof of authorization and eligibility to work in the United States.
- High school diploma required; bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Nevada Gaming Control Board registration and any legally or organizationally required licenses.
- At least three years of experience in a team leader or equivalent role managing service delivery, support activities, and resources.
- At least three years of experience with service desk tools and workflow processes.
- At least three years of experience with problem and resolution management and service delivery methodologies.
- Strong understanding of ITIL change management processes.
- Leadership experience with cross-functional teams.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with guests and team members from varied backgrounds.
- Ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Ability to lift or carry 20 pounds and access all areas of the property as required.
