POSITION SUMMARY

The IT & Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing all information technology operations, cybersecurity initiatives, regulatory compliance programs, and technology-related projects across a 13-rooftop automotive dealership group.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and support all IT infrastructure, systems, networks, telecommunications, and technology platforms across 13 dealership locations.
  • Develop and execute the organization's IT strategy, aligning technology initiatives with business objectives.
  • Oversee dealership management systems (DMS), CDK Software, manufacturer applications, and other critical business systems.
  • Manage IT budgets, vendor relationships, service agreements, software licensing, and technology procurement.
  • Lead technology projects including system implementations, upgrades, migrations, and integrations.
  • Ensure business continuity through disaster recovery planning, backup procedures, and system redundancy measures.
  • Monitor system performance and implement improvements to maximize uptime, efficiency, and security.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain cybersecurity policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Monitor and respond to cybersecurity threats, vulnerabilities, and incidents.
  • Conduct regular security assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses.
  • Manage endpoint protection, network security, access controls, multi-factor authentication, and security awareness programs.
  • Ensure protection of customer, employee, and financial data in accordance with applicable regulations.
  • Oversee compliance with federal, state, and local regulations impacting dealership operations and information security.
  • Ensure compliance with FTC Safeguards Rule requirements and related data security standards.
  • Maintain and update compliance policies, procedures, and documentation.
  • Coordinate internal audits, compliance reviews, and external assessments.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and implement necessary operational and technological updates.
  • Partner with Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and dealership leadership to maintain compliance across all business functions.
  • Directly supervise, mentor, and develop a team of five IT and compliance professionals.
  • Establish departmental goals, performance metrics, and development plans.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, customer service, continuous improvement, and regulatory awareness.
  • Manage staffing, scheduling, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Develop and deliver employee training programs related to cybersecurity, data privacy, and compliance requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for technology and compliance-related matters.
  • Communicate risks, recommendations, and strategic initiatives to executive leadership.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Experience withing the automotive dealership industry.
  • 5+ years of progressive IT management experience.
  • 3+ years of supervisory or leadership experience.
  • Experience managing multi-site technology environments.
  • Experience with regulatory compliance, cybersecurity, risk management, and audit processes.
  • Automotive dealership experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of network infrastructure, cloud technologies, cybersecurity frameworks, and system administration.
  • Knowledge of FTC Safeguards Rule, data privacy requirements, and information security best practices.
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills.
  • ISC2 CISSP Certification is preferred.
  • Previous experience working with CDK software.
