The UI Heart and Vascular Center (HVC) is seeking a Staff Nurse to assess nursing care needs, evaluate effectiveness of care provided, and integrate nursing theory and research into clinical practice of General Cardiology patients within the UI Heart and Vascular Center (Main Campus, Iowa River Landing and/or Outreach Sites). Provide leadership to members of the nursing team to maintain patient care standards. Scheduled hours will be between 7:00AM and 6:00PM, Monday through Friday.

Education Requirement
Experience Requirement
Catheterization Lab, Adult Electrophysiology Lab, Telemetry Unit, Cardiology Unit, Cardiovascular ICU and/or ER within past 6 months.
Demonstrated ability to professionally interact with patients/families, nursing staff and other multi-disciplinary team members required.
Ability to work autonomously in high-volume ambulatory setting with limited supervision.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Current Iowa driver's license plus ability to meet UI Fleet Services safety standards.
Certification/Licensure Requirement
Desired Qualifications
3 years' experience providing direct nursing care in an Outpatient Cardiovascular Clinic, Adult Cardiac Catheterization Lab, Adult Electrophysiology Lab, Telemetry Unit, Cardiology Unit, Cardiovascular ICU and/or ER within past 6 months.
If Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is not yet obtained, active enrollment in a BSN program is desired.
Current job-related professional certification.
Previous EPIC experience.
Knowledge of University policies, procedures, and practices.
