Our client, a Boston-based asset management company, is seeking an Investment Operations Analyst to join their fund operations team. This role sits at the intersection of portfolio management and back-office infrastructure, providing critical support across trade settlement, reconciliation, and reporting functions. The team manages assets across equity, fixed income, and alternative strategies.

The analyst will work closely with portfolio managers, custodian banks, and prime brokers to ensure accurate and timely processing of all investment activity. Daily responsibilities include resolving trade breaks, monitoring corporate actions, and maintaining clean position and cash records across a broad set of managed accounts. Reporting cycles are structured with defined deadlines, and the role requires consistent accuracy under time pressure.

This position is well-suited for someone with a working understanding of the trade lifecycle and hands-on experience with investment accounting or operations systems. The team follows a hybrid schedule with three in-office days per week at their downtown Boston location.

Responsibilities

  • Process and reconcile daily trade settlements across equity and fixed income portfolios
  • Investigate and resolve trade discrepancies with custodians and counterparties
  • Maintain accurate position and cash records across multiple client accounts
  • Monitor corporate actions and ensure proper accounting treatment
  • Coordinate with prime brokers, custodian banks, and internal stakeholders on settlement issues
  • Support portfolio managers with ad hoc reporting and data pulls
  • Assist with month-end NAV review and client reporting packages
  • Contribute to process improvement and technology upgrade initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in investment operations, fund accounting, or a similar role
  • Familiarity with equity, fixed income, and derivative instruments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with Bloomberg a plus
  • Hands-on experience with portfolio accounting or order management systems such as Geneva, Eagle, or similar
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to meet firm daily deadlines
  • Solid understanding of trade lifecycle and settlement processes
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills for cross-functional coordination

Benefits

  • Competitive base salary with annual performance-based bonus
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance with low employee premiums
  • 401(k) plan with employer contribution match
  • Hybrid work schedule with flexibility for remote days
  • CFA exam study support and professional development reimbursement
  • Generous PTO policy plus paid company holidays
  • Commuter benefits and monthly transit subsidy
  • Collaborative team environment in Boston's Financial District
