    Interim CFO (Contract) | Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

    $125/Hour | 3-4+ Month Engagement | Potential for Extension or Direct Hire

    Cherry Bekaert's Recruiting & Staffing practice is conducting a search for an experienced Interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to support a rapidly growing technology organization during a pivotal phase of expansion. This leadership opportunity will be instrumental in guiding financial strategy, supporting capital raising initiatives, enhancing financial operations, and positioning the organization for long-term scalable growth.

    The ideal candidate will bring prior CFO experience within a Series B SaaS, fintech, or technology company, along with a proven track record of partnering with executive leadership, investors, and boards to drive strategic financial outcomes.

    Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
    Duration: 3-4+ Months
    Schedule: Approximately 20+ hours per week initially, with the potential to increase to 35-40 hours per week
    Compensation: $125/hour
    Start Date: Immediate

    Key Responsibilities
    • Partner with executive leadership to support capital raising and growth initiatives.
    • Develop investor-ready financial models, board presentations, and executive reporting packages.
    • Lead financial due diligence activities and coordinate with investors, investment bankers, legal counsel, and other external stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain financial forecasts, cash flow analyses, and long-range growth scenarios.
    • Provide strategic insight to support key decision-making and corporate planning efforts.
    • Lead and mentor the finance organization, including FP&A, Controller, and offshore accounting resources.
    • Assess organizational structure and recommend enhancements to support future growth.
    • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial and operational matters.
    • Assist in the recruitment, transition, and onboarding of a permanent CFO, as needed.
    • Enhance management reporting, KPI dashboards, and SaaS performance metrics.
    • Improve budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
    • Evaluate and strengthen accounting policies, internal controls, and close procedures.
    • Partner with external auditors and ensure consistent financial reporting practices.
    • Assess current finance systems, infrastructure, and operational processes.
    • Recommend ERP and financial technology enhancements to improve efficiency and visibility.
    • Develop a finance systems roadmap that supports scalability and organizational growth.
    Qualifications
    • Previous experience as a CFO, Interim CFO, or senior finance executive within a high-growth organization.
    • Required experience supporting a Series B SaaS company.
    • Strong understanding of SaaS business models, recurring revenue, and key financial performance metrics.
    • Demonstrated success supporting equity and/or debt financing activities, investor relations, and fundraising initiatives.
    • Extensive experience in financial planning, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic finance.
    • Proven ability to build and scale finance processes, controls, and systems in a growth-oriented environment.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    • Fintech or banking technology industry experience is highly preferred.
    • Ability to work onsite in Charlotte, North Carolina, two to three days per week.
