Insurance Account Specialist (Commercial Insurance)

Overview

The Insurance Account Specialist plays a key role in delivering exceptional service and building lasting client relationships. This position is responsible for servicing and retaining commercial insurance customers by proactively engaging with clients throughout the policy lifecycle, identifying evolving needs, and providing solutions that support their coverage goals.

The Insurance Account Specialist responds to customer inquiries, manages agency billing activities, and facilitates the efficient processing of new and existing policies. This role also supports business growth by identifying cross-sell and referral opportunities while ensuring a seamless customer experience. Success in this position requires strong relationship management, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing consultative service that drives client satisfaction and retention.

This position can be filled as a Insurance Account Specialist I or II, based on skills/experience.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Account Servicing - Responds to service requests and proactively identifies needs. Manages new and existing customer activities including policy check-in, renewals, cancellations, endorsements, and initial claim activity. Performs data entry, processing, and risk analysis. Ensures accuracy and compliance with all rules and regulations
• Sales & Support - Develops influential relationships with carriers and customers to achieve business goals and streamline service experience. Identifies sales, coverage, and additional opportunities for existing customers. Responsible for marketing, quoting, and proposal preparation of customer insurance programs. Key stakeholder in customer satisfaction and retention results.
• Operations - Performs various operational tasks that occur during customer, carrier, and associate inquiries. Serves as primary point of contact for carrier and customer requests.

Reporting - Maintains customer notes, assuring proper follow-up and documentation through all elements of the relationship. Monitors claim activity for larger commercial risks and reports to appropriate parties as needed.

IAS I Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor''s Degree OR High School Diploma or GED/Equivalent and 4 years'' experience in Support or Customer Service or Insurance Agency

IAS II Minimum Required Education and Experience: Bachelor''s Degree and 1 years of experience in P&C Insurance OR High School Diploma or GED and 5 years of experience in P&C Insurance

Preferred Area of Experience: P&C Insurance

Required Licenses or Certifications: Property and Casualty License
