Instructional Coach (K-12)

Reports To:

Director of Elementary Education & Director of Secondary Education, Building Principals and Instructional Coordinators

Dept/School:

Central Office

Employment:

200 Day Contract, flexible hours may be needed for training

Calendar:

10 Months/ 200 Days

Qualifications:

TN Teaching License

5 years of successful teaching experience

Preference for certification/degree in literacy & successful leadership experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Provide job-embedded professional development for best practices through developing and maintaining quality educational programs and services.

Performance Responsibilities and Essential Functions:

  1. Assist with the refinement of best practices within the individual classrooms in order to improve instructional quality.
  2. Provide job-embedded professional development to teachers, assuring classroom implementation.
  3. Mentor new teachers to ensure their success.
  4. Demonstrates instructional strategies, techniques, skills, and concepts, classroom management and discipline.
  5. Analyzes student performance data and makes recommendations for remediation/enrichment.
  6. Assists in the implementation and monitoring of formative assessments.
  7. Assists in the correlation and dissemination of curriculum information and materials.
  8. Communicate & maintain positive rapport and positive working environment with principals, staff, and the public.
  9. Provide expertise and training based on experience and current research.
  10. Participate in ongoing personal and professional development to remain current on instructional strategies, research, and trends.
  11. Perform other duties assigned by the Director of Schools, Director of Elementary Education, and/or Director of Secondary Education, building Principal, and/or Instructional Coordinators.
