Work under supervision of certified teacher.\n \nQualifications:\n \nEducation/Certification:\n\n High school diploma or GED\n Valid Texas Educational Aide Certificate\n \nSpecial Knowledge/Skills:\n\n Ability to work well with children \n Ability to use personal computer\n Effective organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills \n \nExperience:\n\n Some experience working with children\n \nMajor Responsibilities and Duties: \n\n Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and classroom displays.\n Assist with administration and scoring of objective testing instruments or work assignments.\n Help maintain neat and orderly classroom.\n Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.\n Help teacher keep administrative records and prepare required reports.\n Provide orientation and assistance to substitute teachers.\n Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher; work with individual students or small groups.\n Help supervise students throughout school day, inside and outside classroom. This includes lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.\n Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.\n Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.\n Participate in faculty meeting and special events as assigned. \n Perform other related duties as assigned within the appropriate skill and experience capabilities expexted for this position.\n \nEquipment Used:\n \nCopier, personal computer, and audiovisual equipment.\n \nWorking Conditions:\n \nMental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:\n \nThe working conditions described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
