You will work closely with Software Development, QA, and engineering teams to maintain reliable Quality Control environments, improve automation, investigate complex technical issues, and continuously enhance our quality engineering processes.The ideal candidate is a strong problem solver who enjoys understanding how systems work, investigating issues to identify root causes, automating repetitive activities, and developing practical solutions to improve engineering efficiency.Key ResponsibilitiesBuild and maintain test automation: Create, maintain, and improve automated testing solutions and automation pipelines for multiple applications, ensuring reliable execution and appropriate test coverage.Manage QC infrastructure and environments: Install, configure, monitor, maintain, upgrade, and troubleshoot Windows and Linux environments used for software development and quality engineering.Develop engineering tools: Create reusable scripts, utilities, and custom tooling that improve automation, testing efficiency, environment management, and overall QC productivity.Troubleshoot complex technical issues: Investigate application, automation, infrastructure, and environment-related issues using logs, test results, system behavior, and structured root-cause analysis.Support software quality: Analyze product issues, reproduce and document defects, collaborate with development teams on resolution, and help identify opportunities to prevent recurring problems.Own critical environments and services: Provide high-level technical support for at least one critical environment, including software licensing, monitoring, configuration, reliability, and incident resolution.Drive continuous improvement: Evaluate new technologies and approaches, automate manual activities, improve QC processes, and contribute to better engineering practices across the organization.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related technical discipline, with relevant experience in infrastructure engineering, quality engineering, software QA, test automation, or a closely related field.Strong understanding of software quality, testing methodologies, automation, and quality engineering practices.Hands-on experience with test automation and scripting/programming, with proficiency in at least one language such as Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Shell.Strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to independently investigate complex technical issues and identify root causes.Working knowledge of both Windows and Linux operating systems, including application installation, configuration, monitoring, troubleshooting, and maintenance.Ability to understand complex technical environments, develop practical solutions, and take end-to-end ownership of technical problems and deliverables.Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with globally distributed, multicultural Software Development, QA, DevOps, and engineering teams.Preferred SkillsExperience with automation frameworks/tools such as Playwright, Selenium, Squish, or equivalent.Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools and automated pipeline development.Strong Python or other scripting experience for developing reusable engineering tools.Familiarity with Git, JIRA, and Confluence.Experience supporting critical development or test environments.Knowledge of software licensing, license servers, environment monitoring, and system administration.Experience with UI, API, integration, regression, or system-level automation.Why UsAt Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work - hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy.
