Responsibilities:
Optimize research operations within APeX by analyzing and refining documentation, workflows, and system configurations to boost efficiency and usability for clinical research teams.
Resolve research end-user issues by researching, documenting, and coordinating with technical teams to ensure quick and effective solutions that address root causes.
Design and maintain key Epic features such as SmartForms, MyChart Recruitment Messages, and e-Consents to ensure they meet the specific workflow requirements of research and clinical teams, fostering seamless integration and functionality.
Configure and optimize Best Practice Advisories (BPAs), SmartSets, and OrderSets to enhance clinical research workflows, ensuring documentation is precise, efficient, and aligned with research objectives.
Provide troubleshooting and ongoing support for Research Study Management and Enrollment interfaces, coordinating with technical teams to ensure seamless system integration and minimize disruptions to research workflows.
Proactively identify potential risks within research-related processes, designing and implementing APeX-based solutions to mitigate issues before they impact workflows or data integrity.
Develop comprehensive test scenarios and conduct rigorous testing to verify that system functionality meets operational requirements and supports user workflows as intended.
Requirements:
Research certification required; Research Ambulatory certification preferred.
Minimum 3 years related work experience.
Preferred Skills:
Broad and/or in-depth knowledge of 1-2 areas of focus in clinical applications specialty area(s).
Knowledge of systems and functions, including design, development, implementation, user support and training, maintenance, quality assurance, and system testing and evaluation.
Advanced build experience in SmartTexts templates and SmartTools, Doc Flowsheets, Order Transmittal, OrderSets and SmartSets, Workflow Engine Rules, Role/Menu/Activity/Navigator setup, MyChart Questionnaires, Preference Lists, Facility Structure, Oncology Research Studies, Reporting Workbench, Synopsis and Radar Dashboards.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train, support, and work collaboratively with users of clinical information systems at all professional and technical levels.
Detail oriented, with proven organizational skills and the ability to effectively manage time, prioritize tasks, and see projects through to completion on deadline.
Proficient in customizing Epic workflows, security templates, user workspaces, and dashboards to accommodate specific research requirements.
Strong analytical skills and knowledge in documentation and reporting, with the ability to design and execute tests, analyze system performance data, and produce substantive reports and analyses.
