Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and safety-focused HydroVac Operator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating hydro excavation equipment to safely expose underground utilities, support construction projects, and maintain job site efficiency. The ideal candidate has experience with vacuum trucks, a strong commitment to safety, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Operate hydro excavation (HydroVac) trucks and associated equipment safely and efficiently
Perform daylighting, trenching, and potholing to expose underground utilities
Conduct routine inspections and basic maintenance of equipment
Follow all company safety policies and regulatory requirements
Communicate effectively with crew members, supervisors, and clients on-site
Complete required job documentation, including daily logs and safety reports
Ensure work areas are clean, organized, and hazard-free
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent preferred
Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required [Class A or B, as applicable]
Previous experience operating HydroVac or similar heavy equipment preferred
Strong understanding of safety procedures and underground utility practices
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and performing manual labor
Strong work ethic and reliability
Preferred Skills:
Knowledge of DOT regulations and excavation standards
Experience working in construction, utilities, or oil & gas industries
Mechanical aptitude for minor equipment troubleshooting
