Hybrid Field Technician and Technical Support Specialist

Department: Meters

Location: Nashville TN (Remote)

Position Overview

We are seeking a versatile specialist to balance hands-on field operations with technical support duties. This is a dual-function role where approximately half of your time is spent on-site performing installations and repairs, and the other half is spent at a computer providing technical guidance and communication for our back-office team.

You will serve as a bridge between the physical equipment in the field and our internal data systems. We provide full training on our specific meter systems; we are looking for candidates with mechanical aptitude, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage their time effectively between two different work environments.

Primary Responsibilities

Field Operations (Approximately 50%)

  • Install, program, and configure submeters and communication systems in multifamily and retail environments.
  • Perform routine inspections, calibrations, and repairs on water, gas, and electric submeters.
  • Diagnose performance or data transmission issues on-site using hand tools and technical software.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines while working at heights (ladders up to 10 feet) and in cramped conditions like attic spaces.
  • Interact with property managers and residents to explain system functionality and address concerns.

Technical Support and Coordination (Approximately 50%)

  • Act as a support resource for other field technicians when they encounter technical challenges.
  • Provide clear explanations to clients and leadership regarding technical issues and their resolutions.
  • Research complex or unfamiliar systems to find solutions in a timely manner.

Schedule and Travel

  • 50% travel may be required. This includes domestic travel via flight or company vehicle.
  • The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8-hour shifts.
  • Travel to and from job sites may occur on weekends, and Saturdays may be required based on project volume.

Requirements

  • Proficiency with Windows-based laptops, including basic experience with Excel and Gmail.
  • Strong mechanical inclination and experience working with a variety of hand tools.
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues clearly, both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb ladders, and work in tight spaces.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain productivity under pressure.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Must have a Real ID for domestic air travel.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Must have a secure area to park a company vehicle, a designated home workspace for administrative duties, and access to high-speed internet

Equipment and Training

  • Conservice provides a company vehicle, gas card, laptop, cell phone, and all required tools.
  • We provide up to 6 weeks of comprehensive training; travel may be required during the training period.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance (eligible the month following 60 days of employment).
  • 401K with company matching.
  • Paid time off and paid holidays.
