JJoin us for this incredible opportunity to be part of our Engineering team as a General Maintenance Engineer at the Hyatt House New Orleans. Nestled in the heart of downtown New Orleans, our extended-stay hotel offers a vibrant setting just steps from the Superdome and Smoothie King Center. Take a short stroll to Harrah's Casino or visit the historic French Quarter less than a mile away.

As a General Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and overall upkeep of guest rooms, public spaces, meeting rooms, and back-of-house areas throughout the hotel. This hands-on position supports the day-to-day operation of the property by performing preventative maintenance, responding to guest service calls, troubleshooting building-related issues, and completing repairs across a variety of trades.

The ideal candidate will possess a broad maintenance background with experience in general building systems, including basic electrical, plumbing, mechanical, carpentry, kitchen, and laundry equipment repairs. Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing exceptional guest service are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Previous general maintenance experience in a hotel, commercial building, apartment community, or similar environment preferred
• Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, and mechanical systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and manage time effectively
• Excellent communication and guest service skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work varying shifts, weekends, and holidays
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and lift equipment as needed
