Description

We are looking for a HVAC (Thermal) Junior Technician is responsible for assisting other technicians with daily responsibilities associated with servicing our Commercial/Industrial Thermal cooling customers mostly located in critical infrastructures. The Technician is interested in a career path in Critical Infrastructure Data Centers and precision cooling, gaining more education and knowledge in highly specialized refrigeration equipment & customer relationships.

WHAT YOU WOULD BE DOING

  • Assist technician and have ability to learn how to perform standard Preventative Maintenance duties on Commercial/Industrial thermal cooling Equipment
  • Assist technician and have ability to learn how to troubleshoot and diagnose problems, change out compressors, failed parts, etc. on all thermal cooling equipment
  • Has basic understanding through classes of HVAC systems including split systems, DX systems, glycol, controls, etc. and is willing and able to learn more
  • Has basic knowledge of how to assist with soldering, braze refrigerant lines, water lines, etc. and is willing to learn more
  • Communicate daily with dispatchers and technicians on reporting job by job information about equipment ID, completed jobs, problems encountered, assistance needed with repairs
  • Able and ready to learn to read and interpret schematics and control circuits
  • Interfaces with the customer on a professional basis and presents DVL in a positive light

  • Properly handle refrigerant, reclaim machine, vacuum pump, micron gauge and other essential tools
  • Work in a safe manner. Follows industry standard safety practices including knowledge of MSDS, tool safety, equipment safety and ladder safety guidelines
  • Safely and properly operate and maintain company vehicle and learns how to maintain a truck inventory
  • Establish relationships with other technicians to learn from them to be able to troubleshoot customer tickets
  • Satisfactory complete Thermal cooling training classes as required

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS TO APPLY

  • One-year certificate from college or trade school
  • Universal Refrigerant Certification required
  • Understanding of the refrigeration cycle
  • Basic refrigeration troubleshooting
  • Ability to utilize a multi-meter in troubleshooting electrical systems
  • Valid driver’s license to drive to customer sites in Company provided vehicle
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Available to perform scheduled on call & overtime duties when able and required
  • Prior safety training and OSHA 10 preferred

The pay range is $20.00/hr. - $25.00/hr. based on relevant commercial HVAC experience plus bonus, work truck, laptop and iPhone.
