Position Overview 

As HR Manager at EXOS, you will lead the People Operations function by strengthening compliance, improving process consistency, and increasing manager capability across the organization.

This role oversees core HR operations, establishes clear standards and documentation practices, and partners with executive leadership to provide practical guidance on employee matters. You will help build the operational and leadership foundations necessary for the continued evolution of the People function over time.

This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building structure, reducing risk, and increasing clarity while introducing practical frameworks to improve retention visibility and performance consistency.


Key Responsibilities

● Oversee HR operations and compliance, ensuring accuracy across payroll, benefits, HRIS, documentation, and multi-state requirements

● Ensure effective administration and alignment of benefits, compensation, commissions, and bonus programs while partnering with leadership and external vendors to maintain competitiveness, cost control, and clear communication

● Establish and standardize core HR policies and processes across the employee lifecycle (hiring, role changes, performance actions, terminations)

● Identify and escalate compliance risks, providing clear recommendations to executive leadership and partnering with Finance on payroll tax oversight

● Lead and develop the People Operations team, clarifying ownership and improving execution quality

● Coach and support managers in performance conversations, documentation, and employee relations matters

● Strengthen performance and talent visibility by improving use of performance systems and implementing structured talent review processes

● Partner with leadership to identify retention risks and coordinate development efforts



Qualifications

● Five or more years of progressive HR experience, including oversight of compliance and operations

● Strong working knowledge of multi-state employment laws and documentation standards

● Experience managing or mentoring HR team members

● Ability to balance structure and flexibility in a growing organization

● Practical experience supporting performance management and talent review processes

● Comfort advising executives while operating in an advisory capacity

● Strong judgment, discretion, and ability to navigate ambiguity

● Experience with HRIS and payroll systems (Paycor experience a plus)

● Skilled communicator with strong interpersonal and relationship-building abilities

● Experience in culture, engagement, and talent development programs

● Ability to handle sensitive issues with discretion, fairness, and professionalism
