Summary of PositionThe Human Resources Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties including talent acquisition, employee relations, process and procedure development, and HR project support.Essential FunctionsPerform full-cycle recruitment activities including job descriptions creation/updating, sourcing, screening resumes, scheduling interviews, conducting phone screens, and hosting new employee orientationInitiate pre-employment background check, drug screening, and Form I‑9 verificationsParticipate in employee engagement initiativesHandle employee relations, including building relationships with all levels within the organization, handling investigations, and managing FMLA/CFRA leavesCoordinate with Payroll and site managers regarding timesheet administration and payroll activitiesPerform onboarding and orientationMaintain employee files and documentationSupport site managers and supervisors with performance evaluations and personnel reviewsEnsure and monitor compliance to California and Federal requirements regarding personnel actionsProvide project support for various HR projects and initiativesAssist in creating and maintaining plant HR metricsPerform any additional duties as reasonably assigned by managementRequired Skills, Education, and ExperienceBachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related fieldMinimum 3 years in a Human Resources GeneralistPrevious HR experience within the manufacturing, aerospace, or defense industriesHands‑on experience in full life cycle recruiting of a wide range of positions, including nonexempt hourly positions to senior‑level executive positionsStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and OutlookStrong verbal, written, and interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, the ability to clearly present recommendations and ideas as well as summarize complex issuesStrong knowledge of California HR Employment Law including but not limited to Benefits (COBRA), FMLA, EEO, ADA, Wage & Hour (FLSA), Workers Compensation, and Occupational Safety and Health (OSHA)Must possess a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism, tact, and attention to detailPreferred QualificationsBilingual Spanish: Strongly preferredPrevious HR experience with Washington State HR and Employment LawSupervisory ResponsibilityHuman Resources AdministratorTravel RequirementsOccasional local travel may be required.Working ConditionsTypically sits for extended periods at a computer workstationMay access and work in the manufacturing plantWhile performing the duties of this job, employees may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes and airborne particlesThe employee may be exposed to vibrationThe employee is occasionally exposed to caustic chemicals.
