Job Description
The City of Raleigh Human Resources Department is seeking a Human Resources Business Partner to join our team. As a member of the HR team, the Human Resources Business Partner will manage and resolve complex employee relations issues and provide expertise in the areas of talent management, performance management, compensation, organizational development, employee training, labor law compliance, and employee relations to their designated business unit/group.
The Human Resources Business Partner is devoted to providing the full scope of employee relations services to departments across the city as well as management consulting, organizational development, and other human resources services as needed. This position works in partnership with leaders, key stakeholders, and HR colleagues to shape, develop and deliver HR plans and solutions in line with the needs and priorities of the organization. To be successful in this role, the candidate will have significant experience in employee relations and human resources consultative and analytical work and is considered the subject matter expert with the highest level of knowledge, providing consultation to other human resources staff and management. Responsibilities may include serving as a lead worker, assigning work and monitoring work completion and supervising paraprofessional and/or support staff including conducting performance evaluations, coordinating training, and implementing hiring, discipline and termination procedures.

Typical Qualifications
Education and Experience
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Business or Public Administration; 3 to 5 years of professional Human Resources experience which includes public sector experience and previous supervisory experience or related work;
OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job
