About the Role
Opportunity: HRIS & Benefits Administrator
Location: Greenwich, CT / hybrid
Compensation: $100-125K


The HRIS & Benefits Administrator is responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of the organization's Human Resources Information System (UKG/UltiPro) and benefits programs. This role serves as a key resource for HR data integrity, benefits administration, reporting, compliance, and Open Enrollment management.


The ideal candidate combines strong HR systems expertise with hands-on benefits administration experience and thrives in a detail-oriented, fast-paced environment. This individual will partner closely with HR, Payroll, benefits brokers, and external vendors to support a seamless employee experience while ensuring compliance and data accuracy.



Key Responsibilities


HRIS Administration



  • Serve as the primary administrator for UKG (UltiPro) Benefits modules, ensuring data integrity and accurate employee records.

  • Configure and maintain benefit plans, eligibility rules, workflows, and system updates within UKG.

  • Partner with IT, Payroll, and UKG support teams to troubleshoot issues, implement enhancements, and optimize system functionality.

  • Develop and maintain standard, custom, and ad hoc reports using UKG BI Reporting to support business and compliance needs.

  • Perform routine audits, reconciliations, and quality-control reviews to ensure accuracy across HRIS and benefits data.

  • Support year-end processing, annual plan updates, benefits rate changes, and new plan-year implementation activities.

  • Create and maintain HRIS documentation, process guides, and training materials.


Benefits Administration



  • Lead the annual Open Enrollment process within UKG, including configuration, testing, employee communications, enrollment monitoring, and post-enrollment audits.

  • Administer day-to-day employee benefit programs, including enrollments, qualifying life events, leaves of absence, COBRA, and terminations.

  • Serve as a primary contact for employee benefits inquiries and issue resolution.

  • Partner with benefits brokers and carriers to resolve escalated eligibility, claims, billing, and enrollment issues.

  • Coordinate and facilitate new hire benefits orientation and enrollment activities.

  • Monitor carrier eligibility files and ensure timely and accurate transmission of enrollment data.

  • Support wellness initiatives, employee education programs, and benefits communications.

  • Assist with compliance reporting, annual audits, nondiscrimination testing, Form 5500 support, and carrier invoice reconciliation.


Compliance & Reporting



  • Ensure benefits administration practices comply with ERISA, ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and other applicable regulations.

  • Generate metrics, analytics, and reporting to support HR leadership and organizational decision-making.

  • Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive employee information.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and operational efficiencies.



Qualifications


Required



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • 4+ years of HR experience with significant exposure to benefits administration and HRIS management.

  • Hands-on experience with UKG (UltiPro), including Benefits Administration, Open Enrollment configuration, and BI Reporting.

  • Strong knowledge of employee benefits programs and related federal regulations.

  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.

  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.


Preferred



  • Experience in the financial services industry.

  • Experience with HR reporting, workforce analytics, and dashboard development.

  • CEBS, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or related certification.

  • Experience leading Open Enrollment processes in a multi-state environment.
