We are seeking an experienced and approachable Human Resources Generalist to support day to day HR operations and serve as a trusted resource for employees and management. This position will be involved across multiple areas of Human Resources, including employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits administration, compliance, training, performance management, and leave administration.

The ideal candidate is organized, professional, and comfortable working directly with employees at all levels of the organization. This individual should be able to balance employee needs with company policies while maintaining confidentiality and ensuring HR practices remain compliant with applicable employment laws.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

Serve as a primary point of contact for employees regarding HR questions, workplace concerns, company policies, benefits, and general employment matters.
Build strong working relationships with employees and management while promoting a professional and positive workplace environment.
Address employee concerns in a timely, confidential, and professional manner.
Conduct and document workplace investigations involving employee complaints, policy violations, attendance issues, and other employee relations matters.
Partner with management to determine appropriate resolutions and corrective actions when necessary.

Recruiting and Onboarding

Support the full cycle recruiting process for open positions across the organization.
Create and post job openings, review applications, screen candidates, coordinate interviews, and assist hiring managers throughout the selection process.
Prepare new hire documentation and coordinate pre employment requirements.
Lead or support new hire orientation and onboarding to ensure employees have a positive and organized introduction to the company.
Maintain accurate recruiting and onboarding documentation.

HR Administration and Compliance

Administer and communicate company HR policies, procedures, and programs.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, personnel files, and HRIS information.
Process employee changes including new hires, promotions, transfers, compensation updates, and terminations.
Assist with maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local employment regulations.
Support HR reporting, documentation, audits, and other compliance related requirements.

Benefits and Leave Administration

Assist employees with questions regarding medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other company sponsored benefit programs.
Coordinate annual open enrollment activities and communicate benefit information to employees.
Monitor employee attendance and maintain accurate records related to absences and leave.
Coordinate FMLA, workers' compensation, disability, and other applicable leave programs.
Work with employees, management, insurance providers, and outside administrators to ensure leave and workers' compensation cases are properly documented and managed.

Training and Performance Management

Support employee training and professional development programs.
Coordinate required workplace and compliance training.
Assist management with employee performance reviews, documentation, and performance improvement processes.
Help identify opportunities to improve employee engagement, retention, communication, and development.

Qualifications

Previous Human Resources experience in a Generalist, HR Coordinator, HR Specialist, or similar role.
Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, benefits, and HR administration.
Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance requirements.
Experience with HRIS systems and maintaining confidential employee records.
Familiarity with FMLA, workers' compensation, leave administration, and attendance management.
Strong communication, organization, and problem solving skills.
Ability to handle sensitive employee matters with professionalism, discretion, and confidentiality.
Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with employees, managers, and leadership.
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
SHRM or HRCI certification is a plus.
