Position Summary
The Human Resource Specialist – Recruiting works under the minimal supervision of the Human Resource Manager. The Human Resource Specialist-Recruiting is responsible for recruiting qualified candidates that align with our company goals and culture. This position requires a strong knowledge of recruiting and hiring related and practices and must be thoroughly familiar with equal employment opportunity regulations and the organization’s affirmative action program. The Human Resource Specialist - Recruiting contributes to the development of the department and must be capable of recognizing, initiating and leading improvement activities related to the areas of assignment. This position interacts with people in all levels of the organization, as well as individuals outside the organization. This position requires strong computer, interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage and lead collaborative recruiting efforts that can scale to the demands of the organization
Confers with management and supervisors to identify personnel needs, job specifications, job duties, qualifications, and skills
Develops recruitment strategies to attract applicants to fill specific job openings
Writes and places job advertising in various media
Develops and coordinates internal job postings
Develops and maintains contacts with schools and other public organizations to find and attract applicants
Works with external recruiters and employment agencies to identify and recruit candidates
Utilizes internet online recruiting sources to identify and recruit candidates
Makes public presentations and participates in job fairs promoting the organization and opportunities
Provides information on company facilities and job opportunities to potential applicants
Initiates contact with possibly qualified candidates for specific job openings
Reviews applications and interviews applicants to obtain work history, education, training, job skills and salary requirements
Screens and schedules candidates for additional interviews with others in the organization
Arranges travel and lodging for out-of-town applicants
Manages recruitment budgets
Define consistent data-driven hiring metrics and goals
Act as a key business partner to members of the company to improve recruiting processes
Maintains the job descriptions library. Reviews and edits job descriptions provided by others, and assures job descriptions are current
Develop and maintain process documentation for all hiring related activities
Collaborates with other human resource staff to provide input and develop strategies to enhance programs to attract and retain qualified candidates
Administers the organizations Equal Employment Opportunity/Affirmative Action program, assuring the organization complies with federal regulations related to fair hiring and work practices
Analyze hiring, promotion, and termination data to assure compliant business practices, develop training programs to educate employees on properly sourcing, hiring, and training candidates to maintain compliance
Oversee the upkeep of the employee handbook to assure updates are incorporated as necessary
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma/GED and two years of Human Resource related experience required
Associate degree in a related field preferred
Other Duties
This position works under minimal supervision. Assignments are received in the form of results expected, due dates and general procedures to follow. This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
