Compensation: $55,000 - $65,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications - Eastern Time Zone (EST) Preferred.
Classification: This position is engaged as an independent contractor (1099) and is not eligible for company-sponsored employee benefits.
Position Summary
The HR Specialist / Recruiter will play a key role in supporting both recruiting and human resources operations. This position is responsible for sourcing and hiring qualified candidates, coordinating onboarding activities, maintaining employee records, supporting field personnel, and ensuring a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle.
The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and is capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
• Manage full-cycle recruiting for field and corporate positions.
• Source candidates through job boards, referrals, social media, networking, and direct outreach.
• Screen resumes and conduct initial candidate interviews.
• Coordinate interviews with hiring managers and field leadership.
• Manage candidate communications throughout the hiring process.
• Maintain recruiting metrics and applicant tracking records.
• Assist with employer branding and recruitment marketing initiatives.
Human Resources Administration
• Coordinate new hire onboarding and orientation activities.
• Prepare and maintain employee personnel files and HR documentation.
• Support employee record-keeping and data entry.
• Assist employees with HR-related questions and requests.
• Maintain compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
• Support attendance tracking and employee communications.
• Assist with corrective action documentation and policy administration.
Employee Support & Operations
• Serve as a point of contact for field employees and supervisors.
• Coordinate employee paperwork, certifications, and onboarding requirements.
• Assist with workforce scheduling and staffing support as needed.
• Support employee engagement initiatives and company communications.
• Collaborate with management to address workforce needs and staffing challenges.
Required Qualifications
• 2+ years of experience in recruiting, human resources, or talent acquisition.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience recruiting within construction, safety, skilled trades, or field services industries.
• Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) or Indeed Dashboard.
• Experienced using WhatsApp and is in EST time zone.
