Gunvor Manager of HR Operations:

The Manager of HR Operations-Americas is responsible for leading a high‑performing HR service delivery model across multiple jurisdictions within the EMEA region (approx. 300 employees across United States, Canada, Peru, Brazil, and Argentina.

This role ensures the efficient execution of all HR operational processes, data, systems, and employee lifecycle activities, while driving continuous improvement, operational excellence, and compliance with local laws and global HR standards.

The role leads a decentralized team of two and partners closely with HR Business Partners, COEs (Reward, Talent Acquisition, HRIS), Legal, and senior business leaders to ensure a consistent, compliant, and high‑quality HR employee experience across all locations.

The Opportunity:

HR Operations Excellence:

  • Lead, manage and optimize daily HR operations across the Americas region, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and compliance with company policies and local regulations.
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve HR processes, procedures, and workflows to enhance operational effectiveness and employee experience.
  • Ensure HR systems and tools are properly kept up to date, ensuring proper utilization, data accuracy, and security.

Employee Lifecycle Management & Service Delivery:

  • Oversee end-to-end employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding, offboarding, transfers, promotions, and other employee status changes.
  • Partner with TA and HRBPs to ensure a seamless onboarding experience.
  • Maintain HRIS (Human Resources Information System) to support employee data management and reporting.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Stay updated on relevant employment laws, regulations, and industry best practices across the Americas region, ensuring compliance in all HR activities.
  • Conduct audits and assessments to identify and mitigate HR-related risks.
  • Partner with legal counsel and other stakeholders to address compliance issues and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Maintain compliant employee files, records, reporting, and statutory documentation.

Vendor Management:

  • Manage relationships with HR service providers, including payroll, benefits, and other HR-related vendors.
  • Ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are met, and vendor performance is regularly evaluated.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as a back up to the HRBP’s to provide guidance and support to HR teams and managers on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and grievance procedures.
  • Work with the HRBPs to conduct investigations into employee complaints or concerns, ensuring fair and timely resolution.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, Master or higher education certificates desired.

Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive experience in HR management, with at least 3 to 5 years in a leadership role within a global organization, preferably in the commodity trading or financial services industry.
  • Demonstrated experience managing remote teams and multiple stakeholders.
  • Certifications such as PHR, SPHR, or SHRM-SCP are a plus.
  • Experience managing HR systems (Workday is a plus) and proficiency in MS Office Suite.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of North American employment laws, regulations, and compliance requirements, with particular emphasis on the United States.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and trends to drive decision-making.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with experience managing teams and projects.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
