HR Manager - NSSED

Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Sedalia seeks a qualified candidate for the HR Manager position to lead all Human Resources functions for the Division.  This position leads both people and the HR function at the location, maintaining a visible leadership presence while balancing structure and consistent processes with openness and approachability.   Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Benefits: Oversees benefits (medical, dental, vision, eye care, flexible spending accounts, life, disability, 401K retirement savings plan, EAP, wellness initiatives, FMLA, ADA, Furlough, and HIPAA administration
• Compensation/Payroll:  Oversees weekly payroll administration and attendance tracking
• Employee Relations: Handles division-wide communication, responds to teammate and manager concerns, assists with investigations, provides counsel/guidance regarding policies/procedures, and organizes company functions.
• Recruiting/Employment:  Oversees recruiting of full-time teammates, student employment programs, & terminations in accordance with legal/regulatory requirements.
• Training/Development:  Oversees division-wide training activities and assists with teammate development
• Public/Community Relations: Oversees community support activities and advertising
• Participates in developing/implementing strategic plans to meet objectives

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or Related Field
• 3 Years Leadership Experience Directly leading and Developing People/Teams
• 5 Years Human Resources Experience
• No Relatives employed with Nucor Steel Sedalia

Detailed Selection Criteria:

• HR Acumen: Knowledge of HR principles, procedures, and practices – recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, employment law, and personnel system – applied with business judgement to support location strategy.

• Problem Solving & Judgement/Decision Making: Identifying problems, gathering relevant information, and weighing options to make informed decisions, take effective action, and lead others in mitigating risk.
• Training and Development: Identify the training needs of the division and effectively develop and implement training and processes to help others improve their knowledge and skills to work safely and effectively.  This includes continually evaluating progress.

Preferences:

• Human Resources experience working in a manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of federal and state employment laws and regulations
• SAP/Success Factors software experience
• Workforce Solutions timekeeping experience
