Accounting Manager - NSSED

Basic Job Functions:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for the coordination, oversight and execution of Nucor’s accounting, reporting, and internal control related activities.  Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, all accounting functions, including general ledger, accounts payable, fixed assets, financial and compliance reporting, forecasting, costing files, assisting with annual budget, monthly balancing, tax and inventory management, and recording and timely reporting of accounting records/transactions, etc.  This position will also, take a lead role in the implementation, communication, and interpretation of accounting and financial policies, control and system improvements, supervise external and internal audit processes and ensure that proper internal controls are maintained: and provide analytical support to other departments as it relates to accounting issues and drive continuous cost improvements across all aspects of the business.  Responsible for staff training and the development and growth opportunities for finance department teammates.  Serve as backup to Controller and other finance department functions as needed.  The successful candidate will uphold Nucor’s values such as integrity, work ethic, and personal responsibility.  Safety is the most important part of all jobs with Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times. 

Minimum Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business (emphasis in accounting) or related field
• Experience with Financial Reporting Systems and various analysis tools

Preferences:

• Minimum 5 years of Accounting/Finance experience
• Manufacturing and Cost Accounting experience
• Leadership/Supervisory experience
• Desire mobility and aptitude to become a Controller within Nucor
