The HR Manager- Stock Yards will plan, manage and implement human resources strategies, programs and processes within assigned functional areas to ensure attainment of business goals and objectives. Provide professional advice and consultation to department management in the daily execution and delivery of Human Resources programs and strategies. Consult and partner with department management in the areas of employee relations, investigations, performance management, leadership development, organizational design and development, and employee communications.

Travel Requirements: Will have to travel to Birmingham AL SY facility

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead and coordinate HR activities that align with business goals; managing all aspects of employee routines including recruiting, on-boarding, setting goals, measuring and assessing performance, development, succession planning, employee relations, compensation, benefits, and exits.

  • Provides comprehensive HR support to assigned functional group(s) in the areas of: Employee relations, Investigations, Performance Mgmt, FMLA/STD/ADA counseling, Organizational design and development, Recruiting, Compensation analysis and recommendations, Compliance management

  • Functions as a business partner and advocate by helping to identify & direct human resources solutions to business needs, while ensuring the efficient, compliant delivery of HR programs and services

  • Works to identify and resolve actual and potential employee problems through the analysis of performance appraisals, counseling, and ongoing coaching sessions, as well as through insights gained from direct support activity and contact with associates and managers

  • Partners with department management in the development and implementation of short and long term strategic initiatives designed to assure the highest levels of performance, as well as attainment of business unit and corporate goals

  • Partners with client leads in the development and implementation of Human Resources operational plans to deliver business initiatives, such as departmental reorganizations, staffing optimization, work practice improvements, etc., in support of business goals and objectives

  • Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all company personnel; assists in development and implementation of policies and procedures; interprets Employee Handbook and policies and procedures manual; advises management on organizational structure, disciplinary actions, recognition, etc.

  • Participates in developing department goals and objectives

  • Develops, implements, and facilitates comprehensive training programs to achieve defined Human Resources goals

  • Other duties as assigned by manager

  • N/A

RELATIONSHIPS

  • Internal: Frontline leaders, managers and functional partners (Safety, FSQ, Finance)

  • External: Temporary Agencies

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Office setting, will be required to visit the plant which is a cold environment.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • 8-10 years of HR generalist experience required.

  • •Knowledge of HRIS System, management skills in coaching and performance management are required

  • Must be a proven leader with demonstrated ability to build strong client relationships, must be able to deal directly with clients to build consensus, establish trust, communicate effectively and foster cultural change

  • Strong organizational skills are required;

  • Ability to identify business opportunities and align them to talent activities and goals

  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior leaders

  • Must be proficient within Microsoft applications.

  • Up to 30% of travel.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Workday Experience

  • Multi-Site Experience

  • PHR or SPHR Certification preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or equivalent work experience required.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state or local minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between

$80,000 - $130,000
