HR Generalist
Location: Houston, TX 77073 (100% Onsite)
Schedule: Monday-Friday | Flexible start time between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM, within a 7:00 AM-5:00 PM operating window
Compensation: $72,000-$85,000 base salary (based on experience) + annual bonus opportunity
We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist to serve as the primary Human Resources representative for a manufacturing facility in Houston. This role is ideal for a hands-on HR professional with prior experience supporting a manufacturing plant environment who enjoys working independently, building strong relationships, and making a meaningful impact in a fast-paced operation.
As the sole onsite HR resource, you will partner closely with plant leadership while supporting both hourly and salaried employees across all areas of Human Resources. The ideal candidate will be comfortable balancing strategic initiatives with day-to-day HR responsibilities and serving as a trusted advisor to employees and managers.

Key Responsibilities
Human Resources Support
Serve as the primary HR contact for the facility
Provide guidance to managers and employees regarding HR policies, procedures, and employee relations matters
Build strong relationships across all levels of the organization
Support employee engagement, retention, and development initiatives
Partner with leadership to support business and workforce objectives
Employee Relations & Compliance
Manage employee relations matters and workplace investigations
Support performance management and employee development activities
Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
Coordinate employee training and compliance programs
Manage background checks and employment verifications
Payroll Administration
Process weekly payroll for hourly employees
Process semi-monthly payroll for salaried employees
Review payroll data for accuracy and completeness
Generate month-end payroll reports
Assist employees with payroll-related inquiries
Support timekeeping administration and payroll compliance activities
Benefits Administration
Administer employee benefit programs
Support annual open enrollment activities
Assist with leave administration, including FMLA
Coordinate workers' compensation reporting and claims administration
Support retirement and 401(k) programs
Recruiting & Talent Acquisition
Manage full-cycle recruiting for hourly and salaried positions
Create and post job advertisements
Source, screen, and interview candidates
Coordinate hiring processes and extend employment offers
Maintain recruiting metrics and reporting
Partner with hiring managers to identify staffing needs
HR Reporting & Administration
Maintain HRIS records and employee data
Generate and analyze HR reports and key performance indicators (KPIs)
Maintain employee files and HR documentation
Assist with policy development and updates
Support workforce planning and organizational reporting
Coordinate employee recognition programs and events
Qualifications
Required Qualifications
3-5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
Manufacturing plant or industrial HR experience required
Experience supporting employee relations, recruiting, payroll, benefits, and HR administration
Experience supporting both hourly and salaried employee populations
Payroll processing experience
Full-cycle recruiting experience
Strong understanding of employment laws and HR best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to work independently with limited day-to-day supervision
Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
Proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications
Experience serving as the sole HR representative for a facility or as part of a small HR team
Experience with HRIS and payroll systems
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field
Equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
