    Our client located in Houston, Texas is adding an HR Generalist to their team. They are seeking a well-rounded HR professional with strong payroll and HRIS experience to support day-to-day HR operations for the U.S. holding company. This is a hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote), direct-hire opportunity.

    Your Role:
    The HR Generalist supports day-to-day HR operations for the U.S. holding company, with responsibilities spanning payroll, benefits administration, onboarding, employee relations, compliance, and data digitization. The primary focus of the role is end-to-end payroll operations, along with HRIS implementation and optimization as part of a multi-year modernization project. This is a hands-on role serving as the payroll point of contact and primary system administrator, ensuring accurate and timely execution of employee pay across multiple entities and states while fostering a positive work environment.
    Execute accurate and timely multi-state payroll cycles (exempt and non-exempt) across two entities with separate payroll platforms and pay schedules
    Administer time and attendance; review timesheets, resolve discrepancies, and process deductions, garnishments, bonuses, and off-cycle checks
    Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations, taxes, and wage and hour laws in California, Alaska, Idaho, and Texas
    Partner with the Finance department on payroll approval, reconciliation, and reporting
    Lead and/or support quarterly and year-end regulatory reporting including W2s, 1094C/1095C (ACA), and 941 filings
    Support 401k administration including manual entry of hires and terminations, deduction codes, Section 125, employer match true-ups, annual testing, and the annual 401k audit
    Lead and/or support HRIS implementation, configuration, and testing of new modules including benefits, open enrollment, and onboarding, collaborating with HR, IT, and vendors
    Serve as primary HRIS system administrator; manage data migration, data integrity, security, permissions, and troubleshooting
    Generate HR reports, dashboards, and metrics; create user guides and train managers and employees on self-service tools
    Support daily benefits administration including invoice reconciliation, payroll deductions, carrier portal administration, open enrollment, life-event changes, and terminations
    Facilitate new hire onboarding and help convert manual processes to automated HRIS workflows
    Support basic employee relations inquiries and escalate matters appropriately while promoting a positive company culture
    Maintain employee records, support digitization of paper files, and assist with compliance reporting and internal/external audits

    Background Profile:
    Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Accounting, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
    A minimum of 3-5 years of HR experience with dedicated payroll processing experience
    At least 2 years of hands-on ADP Workforce Now experience required
    HRIS implementation experience (time and attendance, onboarding, payroll, or benefits modules) a strong plus
    Experience working for a small to mid-size organization is highly preferred
    401k administration experience a plus
    Multi-state payroll knowledge; California experience highly preferred
    Familiarity with benefit plan management
    SHRM-CP or PHR credential preferred
    Exceptional attention to detail, mathematical aptitude, and accuracy in data entry and payroll processing
    Excellent communication skills with the ability to train staff on technical systems
    High integrity, professionalism, and strict confidentiality
    Periodic travel to California for training and support
